'Monty's
Quest' our second feature film.
Preparations
are under way to begin filming 'Monty's Quest' starting from 15th
July 2009. George is keeping a blog
to keep everyone up to date with the project's progress. Last
week, Eimear Burke, an ex-National Diploma in Media student of
George's who has just finished her BA in Film and Television at
DKIT in Dundalk, came on board as co-producer.
'Monty's
Quest' is a sci-fi movie set in an alternative Newry about Montgomery
Alawicious, who has become aware of the world and that he has
to save it. Unfortunately, Monty is having trouble reading the
manual.
The
film has been inspired by the National Diploma in Media Production
students at the Southern Regional College where George is a lecturer.
Those involved with the project have been inspired by the previous
production, 'Fiddler's Walk' (see: Products page to stream the
feature film).
The
cast and crew are made up of most first and second year SRC students
keen to gain more experience before progressing into the next
stage of their education. Once the live-action has been shot over
the Summer break, the edited footage will allow other students
to work on 3D animation, compositing and special effects. A sample
animation test can be seen in the clip above.
The
film will be completed and ready to screen in May 2010.

Synopsis
Michael witnesses his bride's brutal killing by supernatural forces. Falsely accused of her murder, he spends over a decade in a psychiatric hospital and comes to believe what he had seen was a figment of his imagination. But as he rebuilds his life, the nightmare returns when he realises demonic powers have targeted Mara, a young heavy metal singer. The purpose? To bare a Nephilim child, a biblical giant conceived through the union of a fallen angel and a daughter of Eve. A creature whose soul is damned and whose spirit will bolster the army of darkness. Michael races against time and unseen enemies to save Mara, but torn between his own past and a sceptic world will anyone believe him?
